where lost words come to rest in pieces…

Lament

The swallows are flying once again -
Leaving me for better climes…

My love is riding on their wings -
Hope eternal from them springs;
For over forests, rivers and lakes -
Beyond meandering desert dunes -
There lies the spring of your return…

Come back to me – when summer hails -
Come back to me – again…

Gorgeous writing.

I love the ending. The last two things do something great to the flow of the poem. But the flow can never be divorced from the content. That is why the last two lines are special.
