In rain and tears,
Before your door,
I heard your laughter
There no more…
The only sound -
A lonely din
Of broken hearts
In broken sin…
I stayed a while
And prayed for you -
For that was all
That I could do…
I could not knock
To let you know -
I turned around -
I could not let it show…

These ramparts are deserted -
The battlements abandoned -
Wandering these empty halls
Are ghostly memories…
The kingdom is in shambles -
Its castle lies in ruins -
Skyward spires are no more -
The flag is gone for good…
The mighty king has fallen -
Lost along with grace -
Since his queen had vanished -
Lost without a trace…

I swam through tsunamis
And flew through tornadoes -
I floated on landslides
And surfed on volcanoes -
I balanced through earthquakes
And volleyed with asteroids -
I danced in the hail storms
And caught solar flares…
But when the penny dropped at last
It gently crushed my soul…

Find me on horizons
Where the sun goes down;
Chasing after daylight
That’s clinging to your gown;
Slipping from my fingertips
As I keep falling down -
Tumbling through mirages
Like an epileptic clown,
I’m waiting for this final night
When I will surely drown…

Turned to wood;
A heart notched good -
Deliciously carving
To sanctity’s starving;
One more groove
To set the mood -
Those words in stone
Belie the tone
When one last time
You say goodbye…
