Francois Bergh

where lost words come to rest in pieces…

Once, I flew…

I once knew an angel
Who gave me wings -
Crafted in heaven;
Such pretty things…

I took to the skies
And I loved her there -
Sharing the clouds
With nothing to spare…

As wild butterflies
We soared and explored -
Never a moment
Were we ever bored…

But life has a way
And all things must change;
I watched as our heaven
Turned hostile and strange…

I fell to the earth -
I barely escaped -
When looking back up;
In dark skies I was draped

And here I’ll remain
‘Till the end of my days -
The sun is now gone;
I will miss it always…

Nice trip, but the sun must come out again, even brighter. You write so dearly.

….metaphorically kicked out of a plane huh?
That’s what happens when you play with angels?
How’s life?
