where lost words come to rest in pieces…Archive for Disappointment
Something matters…

What’s left but tatters of belief
When facing harsh reality?
Can we hold on to tiny embers
On the coldest winter’s day,
Like beggars biting bitter crumbs
To sanctify just one more night…
What’s left when you give up on me
To leave behind my scattered mind?
Could you resume with normal living;
Make-believe you heart’s content?
Have you by now convinced yourself
That nothing matters anymore…
What’s left for me to say this time
When I have led your heart astray?
Should I let go and welcome this
Eternal fall down the abyss,
To fade among a soulless throng -
To matter, maybe, to belong…
Matallica – Nothing else matters
Covered by Lucie Silvas
Let it burn

Self-serving platitudes;
Trading like for like -
Hidden in these latitudes
A pattern comes to light:
Lazy spatters fill the gutters
Scattered through this underworld
As thought escapes through shattered panes
Once meant to keep disease at bay…
Strewn amid the sub generic
Maze of ever shallow minds
The unashamed reveal their game:
A selfish orgy of pretense…
Show me sparks of the divine
And I will show you empty lies;
Regurgitated courtesies
Submitted without relevance…
Black Sun

Black sun – rise,
Consume the skies -
You dawn the day
With empty lies…
Black sun – noon,
Dispense your doom -
Defile my soul
And end it soon…
Black sun – set,
You won this bet -
You took from me
What I covet…
Black sun – death,
Through moon bequeath -
Your taunts remain
From your last breath…
And for the audio-philes:
That day on the beach

I remember walking strayed
On the beach that distant day -
Reflecting on my sordid life;
The last mistakes I’ve made…
I remember losing faith
On that far-off lonely day -
How could life be justified
With all the hurt I’ve caused…
I remember finding you
As I flirted with the surf -
Angelic white dress floating freely -
Golden halo-hair in wind…
I remember your approach
As you entered my domain -
Your tender eyes could see right through me;
Extricating pain held deeply…
I remember your caress
As you touched my tear-drenched cheeks -
The words you said had pierced my heart;
Releasing anquish trapped inside…
I remember breaking down
As you kissed me lovingly -
Your true compassion melted me;
My brutish soul was healed by you…
I remember all these things
Even though it is too late -
What’s lost in time can not be saved;
My lot now sealed by cruellest fate…
We all have that one critical moment in time where our path could have turned out so much differently… if only things had been different…
Smeary lives

Bleary skies
And teary eyes -
All the weary lies
And all the leery spies -
Somehow, our dreary cries
Are really notĀ a bigĀ surprise…
