The cost of loss

Contemplating loss -
Compelled to reminisce;
The cost of emptiness -
The things that I will miss:
Blissful mornings in your smile,
Watching day by dawn aroused -
Knowing time had just begun;
So much left – we could explore…
Laughter ringing in your voice;
Beauty innermost exposed -
Innocence so angel-sweet;
Rivers sparkling with your mirth…
Losing time in emerald eyes;
Glittered sunlight from the skies -
Halos through your golden threads
Spread in veils across my chest…
Snugly-safe in your embrace;
Nothing that I couldn’t face -
Regal crown by you endowed -
Ruling worlds as you allowed..
Sharing rapture in your grace
Every time we’d left this place -
Floating freely writhing-screaming -
Coming down in gentle dreaming…
These are things that I will miss;
That’s paid in full by emptiness -
When I’m compelled to reminisce
And contemplate your loss…
